CFBG’s Third Anniversary!

CFBG Third AnniversaryOne music venue in Greensboro is breaking traditions in the best way. This weekend, we salute the breaking mold.

“A lot of venues only last a couple of years,” remarked Max Benbassat, owner of CFBG, Greensboro’s cherished record co-op/venue/chillest spot with wifi to drink a cold one within walking distance of UNCG. Max is absolutely beaming from the other end of the line, telling me about how amazing the last three years have been at CFBG.

As of this Saturday, March 3rd, it’s been three years since CFBG (Campaign For a Better Greensboro) opened its doors. I’ve personally enjoyed going to shows here, dancing (or toe tapping – I can be quite reserved even though I usually would rather dance and rock out), admiring the art displayed cannily on the walls, and marveling at the local scene I feel so lucky to find myself within. It doesn’t even feel like it’s been three years, and that’s a healthy sign!

To celebrate their three year anniversary, CFBG is hosting a “THREE-PIECE THROW DOWN” featuring The Leeves, Damn FrankDread Fabrik, and Switchblade 85. From 8pm – 11pm this Saturday, get ready for some tunes that, according to the Facebook event, will “make you want to shake your badonkadonk like no one was watching.”

CFBG is open Monday – Saturday from 1-8pm and is located at 930 South Chapman Street. Directions here!
